Bromar Road, Camberwell, SE5 - £565,000

This location is amazing. You can walk to East Dulwich, Peckham and Camberwell centres, zone 2 trains, the London Overground service, a large Sainsbury's, superb bars, excellent restaurants and well-regarded schools. The flat itself is on the hall-floor of a good-looking, halls-adjoining Victorian townhouse. What was originally the coal cellar for the house is part of the property as is the gorgeously-planted rear garden. Sun-worshippers will appreciate the large garden patio while gardeners will adore the spectacular display of sub-tropical plants.

French doors from the reception open out to the garden. This room is bright, has stripped floorboards, white walls, display shelving and is linked to the kitchen via an internal cut-out window. The kitchen is charming, has black units, white mosaic tiling, a solid wood worktop and a freestanding stainless steel cooker. The bathroom has a deep double-ended bath, a thermostatic shower with a large shower rose and the basin is fitted into a modern wall-hung vanity unit. Both bedrooms are doubles; one has side return views and the other a large bay window with a wood panelled surround. The original fireplace in here has a solid marble surround and mantelpiece and shelving built into the alcoves.

Dog Kennel Hill Primary School is nearby and gains above average results. Older children can apply to the Charter School East Dulwich, Kingsdale (rated by OFSTED as "good"), St Thomas the Apostle (OFSTED "outstanding") or either Harris academy at Peckham Rye (both OFSTED "outstanding"). Denmark Hill station has zone 2 trains to Victoria (with non-stop services) and London Bridge plus London Overground links to Clapham Junction, Canada Water, Whitechapel, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington. East Dulwich has regular London Bridge and West Croydon services while Peckham Rye offers all of the aforementioned as well as trains to Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon and St Pancras. If you want a scenic trip into the West End or City, grab a bus from Dog Kennel Hill and, if you're late, you can catch a night bus back. You've umpteen local bars, restaurants and independent shops to discover as well as artists' studios and live music venues. ...Read Less
