Forest Hill Road, East Dulwich, SE22 - Offers in excess of £400,000

Being on the top floor of this mansion block, you gain tree-top views. Being a classic Art Deco building, you also get large windows and lovely original features such as internal doors and solid parquet flooring. Modern additions to the flat are in keeping with its provenance: the bathroom has traditional fittings, a monochrome palette, chequerboard floor and metro tiles. More metro tiles line kitchen walls between neat white kitchen units. Integrated appliances include a dishwasher and tall fridge/freezer and there's an inset gas hob, a built-in oven and a 1.5 bowl sink. Modern column radiators have been fitted in each room and walls wear heritage colours. Each apartment is arranged around a remarkable full-height courtyard under a large skylight. Sub-tropical and woodland plants are focal points while carefully tended front gardens include plants with year-round interest. The flat comes with a share of the freehold.

Honor Oak Park station is a 15-minute walk for trains to London Bridge and Victoria or London Overground links to Canada Water, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington. The No.63 bus sets off up to King's Cross (via the City) from across the road, or you can alight at Peckham Rye station (about 7-minutes' journey) for zone 2 trains and London Overground services into several key London stations. The parade of shops opposite Mundania Court include a Co-operative mini-mart, Post Office, chemist, organic juice bar, beauty parlour and two very good cafés (Norris and Knight and The French Café). The Herne Tavern and Watson's General Telegraph are particularly good pubs offering craft beers, decent food and large gardens. You can walk to everything East Dulwich has to offer (boutiques, bars, restaurants and markets) as well as Honor Oak Park's high street and its excellent restaurants. Peckham is nearby for independent eateries, artists' studios and street food while Peckham Rye Park offers wonderful green space, an outdoor gym, skate park, pond and ornamental gardens. ...Read Less
