Peckham Road, London, SE5 - £495,000

Ceilings are high, light is liberal and space is generous in this beautifully kept Camberwell apartment. One of the four original fireplaces still works, internal doors remain in most rooms and floorboards are stripped back in the large reception. Both bedrooms have beautiful fireplaces with decorative floral tiles while the larger room has an alcove wardrobe - quite possibly the original. Seat guests comfortably by the window in the kitchen/diner as you prepare supper at the built-in double oven/gas hob. Expertly fitted, the kitchen makes good use of space, has plumbing for a washing machine and space for a tall fridge/freezer. There's a larder/storage cupboard in the kitchen, a modern white suite is fitted in the bathroom and fitted blinds dress all windows. Outside the flat is a staircase leading to the shared roof terrace and you've the nearest access to it.

Barrington House is opposite South London Gallery, an internationally renowned organisation with a superb restaurant/cafe. Peckham Rye station is at most a 15-minute walk, within travel zone 2 and has regular trains to London Bridge, Victoria, Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon, St Pancras and Highbury & Islington. You can also pick up London Overground links to Clapham Junction, Canada Water, Whitechapel, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington. Being almost exactly between Peckham and Camberwell centres, you have some supremely cool bars and restaurants at your fingertips. Street food, pop-up bars, edgy eateries and cocktail bars are all nearby while the multi-screen cinema is London's most keenly priced. The supermarket, farmers' market and various chain stores along Rye Lane will meet daily living needs while two swimming pools/leisure centres are a short walk away.
