St Mary's Road, Peckham, SE15 - £550,000

The Pioneer Centre was designed by ground breaking British architect, Sir Owen Williams, commissioned as a venue for The Peckham Experiment, a major health study which has been used as a working model by the World Health Organisation. The brief was to design a building that could maximise people's health and wellbeing; so with this in mind, you might notice how especially light and spacious this apartment is. Iconic '30's Crittal windows in the main living area stretch across an entire wall; ceilings are high and French doors opens out to an attractive south facing garden area. A modern white kitchen has been added, with an integrated dishwasher, plumbing for a washing machine and a built-in stainless steel oven/easy to clean induction hob. A spiral staircase with built-in bookcases leads downstairs, where the huge hallway accommodates a home office, sofa and two large storage cupboards. Both light-filled bedrooms are massive doubles; there is a full en suite bathroom to the master and an additional shared bathroom off the hall. Did we mention the entire property is almost 1000sq.ft?

Queen's Road station is a 5-minute walk, in zone 2 and has trains to London Bridge (you're there in 8-minutes) and Victoria (around 40-minutes) plus London Overground services to Clapham Junction, Canada Water, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington. Nunhead station is a 10-minute walk, also in zone 2 and has trains to Victoria, Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon and St Pancras. Nunhead's high street has some very good independent shops - a delicatessen, bakery, butcher, bike shop, florist and retro furniture place. There's also a mini-mart and couple of pubs and restaurants - we love The Old Nun's Head for its street food Saturday nights and open fire. Walk to Telegraph Hill and Peckham Rye for open green spaces and Peckham or East Dulwich for brilliant nights out.
