Consort Road, Peckham, SE15 - £850,000

Not only is it chock full of character, this handsome home is also brilliantly near East Dulwich, Peckham Rye, Nunhead and Bellenden Road. Original features include internal doors, stripped floorboards, sash windows and twin working fireplaces in the double reception. The shaker style kitchen has a quarry tile floor, a built-in stainless steel oven, inset gas hob, walk-in larder, French doors to the garden and a large skylight over the dining area. Plantation shutters, polished floorboards and French doors are found in the double reception and there's a garden door at the rear of the hallway.

The master bedroom has handmade fitted wardrobes. Geometric tiles across the floor and bath panel make for a very stylish bathroom which has only just been fitted. The south east facing garden is barely overlooked, has a large composite decked terrace, a cherry tree and a copper beech. The roof was replaced in 2008 and all reception and front bedroom windows were restored in 2011. The kitchen, radiators and French doors were fitted around 6-years ago and the larder was refurbished around the same time. It's also very reassuring to know the boiler is just a year old.

Walk to Peckham Rye station in under 12-minutes for zone 2 trains (London Bridge, Victoria, Blackfriars, Farringdon, City Thameslink and St Pancras) and London Overground links (Clapham Junction, Canada Water, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington). Local primary schools include Rye Oak and St Mary Magdalene (both Ofsted "good") and John Donne ("outstanding"). Older children can apply to either Harris academy at Peckham Rye (both "outstanding"), Harris Peckham ("good") or St Thomas the Apostle ("outstanding").

Visit any of Nunhead's independent outlets in moments - revered wet fishmonger, butcher, bakery, sourdough pizzeria and craft beer bars. The cemetery is one of London's Seven Magnificent cemeteries, holds regular events and is particularly beautiful. Peckham's high street offers London's best value multi-screen cinema, several high street chains (Boots, Argos, Holland & Barrett, Superdrug, Primark), a supermarket, farmers' market, library and a leisure centre with swimming pool. The area is jam-packed with fashionable bars and restaurants such as Franks' Campari Bar in the summer, Bar Story, Peckham Springs, Forza Win, Mr Bao, Pedlar, The Peckham Refreshment Rooms, Persepolis, Peckham Bazaar and Babette in Nunhead. Walk to Bellenden Road or East Dulwich for more shops, bars and cafés.
