Harlescott Road, Nunhead, SE15 - £929,995

There's no shame in being house-proud - this is a beautifully preserved family home. Period features include fireplaces with solid marble mantelpieces, Victorian glass, alcove cabinets, bedroom wardrobes, sash windows, stripped floorboards, the front door, internal doors and dividing doors between two receptions. These receptions are laden with Victorian originals including the rear French doors (with the original glass) that open to the garden. The third reception is a dining room with a side-return bay window - the natural spot for a table and chairs. The rear kitchen has a walk-in larder, wood units and a brick-red herringbone floor. Behind is a cloakroom and integral shed that could be easily squished into the kitchen, next door have extended out and up to gain more kitchen, two extra bedrooms and a shower room. All three first-floor bedrooms are large doubles and there's a family bathroom with an original coloured glass window. The garden faces directly south, has an original rear brick wall, a lawn and established shrubs.

Walk to zone 2 trains and London Overground services at Brockley in around 15 minutes (London Bridge, Victoria, Canada Water, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington) and zone 2 trains from Nunhead (London Bridge, Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon and St Pancras) in around 9-13 minutes. Local primary schools include Ivydale and Turnham, while older children can apply to either OFSTED 'outstanding' Harris academy at Peckham Rye or Kingsdale. Peckham Rye Park is a 5 minute walk and you've many pubs that do good food on your doorstep. The Ivyhouse (London's first co-operatively-owned pub) and The Waverley Arms are both two minutes' away and very good. Shops (including interesting independents) are found in Brockley and Nunhead (both 12 minutes' walk) while East Dulwich and Peckham are only a little further for cinemas, chain stores and a host of restaurants. ...Read Less
