Netherby Road, Forest Hill, SE23 - £975,000

This street is well-known for its views. From the rear of this house you gain a fantastic panorama across London: Tower Bridge, the BT Tower, London Eye and St Paul's seem close enough to touch. This row of semi-detached 1930s homes have deep front gardens and rear gardens that measure 110ft long. This house has a wide entrance hall with an original fireplace, a front reception with basketweave parquet flooring, a bay window and an original fireplace and a rear dining room with a period wood mantelpiece and doors out to the garden. The galley kitchen has modern units, a column-fitted NEFF oven, fitted microwave, inset 5-ring gas hob and plumbing for both a dishwasher and washing machine. There's also a garden door (in the kitchen) and a downstairs cloakroom by the stairs.

Two of the three bedrooms are large doubles and have fitted wardrobes while the third is a small double/large single. The family bathroom has a shower cubicle, his-and-hers basins, white tiles, bright walls and down-lighters recessed into the ceiling. There's a cloakroom and a deep cupboard up here too. If converting the loft appeals to you, next door have a large dormer window, meaning a precedent for planning is been set. It's this, the views and the garden that make this house particularly special. You can lose yourself in any of the seating spots outside, hidden by sub-tropical palms, ferns and woodland climbers. There's a pond, a potting shed, raised beds, decked patios and a lawn.

Honor Oak Park station is a 10-14 minute walk for trains to London Bridge and Victoria plus London Overground services to Canada Water, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington. The nearest primary schools are Fairlawn (OFSTED "outstanding") and St Francesca Cabrini ("good"). Older children can apply to either Harris academy at Peckham Rye (both "outstanding"), The Forest School ("good"), The Sydenham School ("good") or Kingsdale ("good"). Brenchley Gardens, One Tree Hill and Peckham Rye Park are a short walk away while The Horniman Museum and Gardens is 10-15 minutes on foot. Eat at any of the restaurants in Honor Oak or Forest Hill and spend balmy summer evenings in beer gardens at The Watson's General Telegraph or The Herne Tavern.
