Alleyn Park, Dulwich, SE21 - Guide Price £1,600,000

Built by Wates in the 1960s, this was blessed with expansive windows, solid parquet flooring, a wraparound garden and side access. Taking centre stage inside the house is a mammoth living space floodlit either side by floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors. Original features include solid parquet flooring, recessed eyeball spotlights and wooden ceiling cladding. The large room next door (a second reception), is used as a playroom and also has sliding doors that open to the garden. Meals can be passed through the original hatch between the main reception and kitchen; there are cream modern kitchen units, a column-fitted double oven, inset gas hob and plumbing for a dishwasher. Apart from the convenience of a downstairs cloakroom with W.C, there's a large utility room with a garden door and a conservatory with skylights, large windows and a garden door. Of the six bedrooms upstairs, five are doubles and have fitted wardrobes. An en suite shower room is linked to the master bedroom while a large family bathroom serves the rest of the household.

Outside, the garden wraps around the front, one side and rear of the house and there's gated side access. You could park a couple of cars on the driveway plus there's a separate garage.

Walk to Sydenham Hill or West Dulwich train stations in 5-10 minutes for trains to Brixton (change for the Victoria line) and Victoria. Park Hall Road shops include some great independents (bookshop, music shop, delicatessen, garden centre and boutiques) plus there's also a Tesco Express. Dulwich Prep is a 4-minute walk while the College is under 10. Alleyn's and JAGS are also nearby while Kingsdale is an exemplary state secondary and just a few minutes' walk away. The Rosendale is a wonderful local pub that does fantastic food while Dulwich Village and Park are a short stroll for Dulwich Gallery and an endearing range of shops and cafés.
