Roy Brooks was established 75 years ago, but rose to real prominence and infamy during the 1960's and 70’s.  He wrote hilariously witty and honest advertisements describing homes and (very often heir owners too). He minced no words and spared no feelings.

He placed ads in The Sunday Times and The Observer, and the nation thought the entertainment they provided the was the perfect partner to sunday toast and marmalade. ‘Breakfast with Roy’ was a ritual among the young and affluent elite from Lands End to John O’Groats. Rumor has it that sales of the ‘Sundays’ were so fueled by the presence of the ads, that he was offered free advertising space in return for the increase in their circulation.

We reprinted a collection of some of his most inspired work entitled 'Brothel inPimlico' in 2001. It sold over 10,000 copies in its first two months of release. It was reprinted again in 2003 under his other title: ’Mud Straw and Insults’.To find out how you can obtain a copy of either of these books, please call ouroffices today and ask for Jan: 0208 299 3021 OR Send a cheque for the correct amount made out to ‘Roy Brooks Ltd’.
