semi detached

huge kitchen/diner

separate reception

bathroom and shower room

period features

off-street parking

100-ft south west facing garden

fab local schools (Goodrich, Fairlawn, Harris)

Large semi with an extended kitchen/diner, original features and an 100-ft south west facing garden. This admired location is near great schools, East Dulwich, Peckham, Nunhead, Honor Oak and minutes from Peckham Rye Park.

These handsome semis along Scutari all have wide driveways that can easily handle a couple of cars as well as an attached garage each. What's different about this house isn't so apparent from the kerb; once you're past the (original) front door, period features come at you thick and fast: internal doors, fireplace mantelpieces and stained glass with leading in the hallway saloon doors. The hall is particularly wide and the front reception has a curved bay and a carved wood mantelpiece. The saloon doors open into an extended kitchen/diner that has large zones for a sofa and TV set-up and family dining space near the open kitchen. One end of the kitchen island extends as a breakfast bar, the Britannia freestanding stove (six gas rings, two ovens) will easily cater for larger gatherings, there's an integral fridge/freezer and a freestanding washing machine and dishwasher.

The downstairs cloakroom is near the staircase which leads up to three bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom on the first floor. Two of the bedrooms are large doubles and all have built-in wardrobes and stripped floorboards. The loft space has a Velux window, proper floor and electrical points.

Outside, the garden stretches just under 100-feet, has patio areas near the house, at the very rear and faces directly south west. The lawn is edged by borders and scattered with young trees.

Peckham Rye Park is a few minutes' walk as is the useful parade of shops along Forest Hill Road. It's worth mentioning a couple of superb local pubs that serve good food and have large beer gardens (The Herne Tavern and Watson's General Telegraph), both just a few minutes on foot. Local schools include some considered 'outstanding' by Ofsted and others considered equally as good by local parents (Fairlawn and Goodrich primaries and two Harris secondary academies). Honor Oak Park station is a 15-minute walk for trains to London Bridge and Victoria and London Overground links to Canada Water, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston Junction and Highbury and Islington. Peckham Rye station has services to Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon and St Pancras. Cinemas, restaurants, boutiques and supermarkets can be found in East Dulwich, Peckham and Honor Oak.
